Shrine1
Main Buildingifrom the east corridor)
Time was some time after high tide. View was good as the water level was high. It means the difficulty when the storm hits. The island protects the Shrine from strong wave come from south of the Inland sea. But north west wind brings up wave in the length of 2km. The typhoon wave sometimes attacks the buildings.
Ohtorii(from east corridor)
The design of Itsukusima Shrine is the palace style characteristic of Fujiwara period. The corridor connects each building. Particular difference is the Shrine has deck in front of the main building.
The line between Ohtorii and main building directs northwest.
@It was the day before spring tide and tidal range was 3 m.
